Be Married Every Day… April 30, 2008

OK so the subject line of this post is kind of obscure…it does not mean to insist that one MUST enter into marriage (keep reading…and thanks to Derrick L. Williams for his blog!)

My roommate and I were having a discussion about marriage the other night and how some couples divorce and why. We were both in agreement that abusive relationships are more than worthy of divorce, and — if consistent enough — so is infidelity (case in point, my uncle was cheating on my aunt for over two years); but what about those couples who are married for 2 or 3 years and then decide, “Eh, I’m not feeling it anymore…”?

Marriage, in my humble and inexperienced opinion, is not something you just try out. I think so often people forget that marriage needs attention and dedication — this is often something I find is not realized until you are MATURE enough to enter into it. So then, how do couples make it last?? How can some grow old and gray together, while others are content with letting their bond fizzle?

This blog, titled Be Married Every Day. Every Day., was FANTASTIC in its explanation of how you need to work at a marriage and give it attention to make it thrive. I am reposting it because, like me, I needed something insightful to break up my workday. (And, okay, I was a little bored this morning.)
Enjoy!
